About Me
Hi! I’m an undergraduate researcher passionate about using artificial intelligence to accelerate discovery in biology. I first found my love for research at the University of Florida’s Designer Glycans Lab, where I developed Python automation protocols for molecular biology experiments and contributed to a paper on accessible automation for plant synthetic biology. Since then, I’ve explored how machine learning and computational modeling can reveal new insights into enzyme function and protein design, from applying the Maximum Entropy model to study polysaccharide synthesis to benchmarking protein language models for enzyme prediction. Through experiences in UF’s AI Scholars program, UCF’s Computational Mathematics REU, and Purdue’s Anvil REU, I’ve worked across both computational and experimental biology, building tools that make large-scale biological analysis more efficient and accessible. Looking ahead, I hope to pursue a Ph.D. in computer science to continue advancing AI-driven bioinformatics for applications in medicine, agriculture, and biotechnology.

Some of my favorite quotes:
“Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.” - John Green
“Science fiction is the literature of dreams, and texts concerning dreams always say something about the dreamer, the dream interpreter, and the audience.” - Ken Liu
“I’ve managed to stay in a perpetual state of learning only by maintaining what I think of as a posture of ignorant humility. This humility is as mandatory as arrogance… There is only one way to deal with this humiliation: bow your head, let go of the idea that you know anything, and ask politely of this new machine “How do you wish to be operated?” If you accept your ignorance, once you really admit to yourself that everything you know is now useless, the new machine will be good to you and tell you: here is how to operate me.” - Ellen Ullman
My favorite books at present:
Upgrade - Blake Crouch

Vita Nostra - Marina Dyachenko, Sergey Dyachenko

Life In Code - Ellen Ullman

Remembrance of Earth's Past (Series) - Liu Cixin

The Library at Mount Char - Scott Hawkins
